SERC 2025 Palmetto Signature Event

In West Palm Beach, Palmetto knows how to party!

From our hotel, we were whisked down the famous Clematis Street to the City Center Dock, where we gathered to board the Hakuna Matata catamaran for an extravagant evening curated to celebrate our Palmetto Chapter.

The Palmetto Chapter encompasses the entire state, which means that when we gather, we tend to cluster in our city factions and meet other members only fleetingly in passing. This was a great opportunity to mix and mingle with the larger membership.

Safety first — we were debriefed before we set sail, and then off we went! The course was set to view the skyline of Downtown West Palm Beach, featuring grand palatial mansions. The bar was transformed into a buffet of heavy snacks and effervescent libations. The air was filled with lively chatter and party-vibe music from our captain/DJ (it was balanced so we could converse — much appreciated).

This trip provided an opportunity to connect with members in other cities whom I typically do not have the chance to engage with. I had meaningful conversations with new friends. With ample time on this excursion, I was also able to share laughs with old friends.

I personally liked the fact that we all agreed to attend a structured event, so it didn’t have the “pop-in / Irish goodbye” feel that is typical of many A/E/C industry events. Like most good things, it came to an end rather quickly. We are left with lasting memories, candid snapshots, and strengthened relationships.

A huge thank you to President Elizabeth Dees, MBA, CPSM, and everyone who planned this for the Palmetto Chapter. These events really bring us together, helping everyone stay connected no matter how far apart we are and making our network feel a lot more friendly and supportive. Palmetto Power!
